Governor Roy Cooper today announced the appointment of two District Court Judges to serve in Judicial District 22B, which serves Davidson and Davie counties.

Today, Governor Cooper participated in calls with US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm and Department of Energy Officials on the impacts of the cyber attack on the Colonial Pipeline.

Governor Roy Cooper has declared May 9-15 as Hurricane Preparedness Week, joining the national effort to make people more aware of the dangers of hurricanes and encouraging all North Carolinians to prepare for tropical weather.

In response to the temporary shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline, Governor Roy Cooper today signed an Executive Order declaring a state of emergency in North Carolina and temporarily suspending motor vehicle fuel regulations to ensure adequate fuel supply supplies throughout the state. On May 7, 2021, the Colonial Pipeline system reported a ransomware cyber-attack, resulting in a temporary shutdown of that line. The Colonial Pipeline is a primary fuel pipeline for North Carolina. 

Three North Carolina high school teams developed winning mobile applications in the state's second annual Ready, Set, App! contest, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The contest is sponsored by the North Carolina Business Committee for Education (NCBCE), a business-led, education non-profit within the Governor’s Office, in partnership with Lenovo.

Today, Governor Roy Cooper signed three bills into law.

     

    Governor Roy Cooper has appointed Mark Sternlicht to serve as Superior Court Judge for Judicial District 12 in serving Cumberland County. He will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Mary Ann Tally.

    Governor Roy Cooper has proclaimed May 6, 2021 as National Day of Prayer in North Carolina to invite North Carolinians of all faiths and backgrounds to express their beliefs through prayer. 

    Today, Governor Roy Cooper visited the New Hanover County Vaccine Clinic at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center to tour the facility and observe vaccinations.
