Nipro Medical Corporation, a leader in the global healthcare and medical device industry, has selected Pitt County for its first North American manufacturing center of excellence, creating 232 jobs, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company will invest more than $397.8 million to build a new manufacturing campus and U.S. headquarters in Greenville.
Morinaga America Foods, Inc., a subsidiary of the Japanese confectionary company Morinaga & Co., Ltd. will expand its current operations in Orange County with an investment of $136 million, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company reports it will create 204 jobs in Mebane.

Nucor Rebar Fabrication, a leading fabricator of concrete reinforcing steel, will create 25 new jobs and invest more than $20 million to establish a new rebar fabrication facility in Davidson County, Governor Roy Cooper announced today.“It’s great when a home grown company chooses to expand in North Carolina, especially when it’s the largest steelmaker in America,” said Governor Cooper. “Nucor’s decision illustrates its confidence in our state’s workforce, transportation infrastructure, and supportive business environment that makes North Carolina the best state to do business.”
James M. Pleasants Company Inc. (JMP), a major distributor and sales representative for HVAC, plumbing, and other industrial equipment, will consolidate its Greensboro operations into a new facility, creating 40 jobs over five years, according to the company. JMP will invest $30 million in Guilford County.
TCOM, a manufacturer of air surveillance systems, will add 25 new jobs in Pasquotank County, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company will expand its Elizabeth City operation with an investment of $763,000.“It’s companies like TCOM that reinforce our reputation as the most military-friendly state in country,” said Governor Cooper. “They know that we have an experienced, skilled workforce in Pasquotank County and a strong relationship to the military that makes North Carolina a great place to grow an innovative aerospace company.”
