Today, Governor Josh Stein, North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) Secretary Pam Cashwell, and North Carolina Department of Enviornmental Quality (DEQ) Secretary Reid Wilson celebrated Earth Day at Eno River State Park in Durham. Governor Stein toured the park with Eno River Superintendent Kimberly Radewicz and spoke with park rangers to learn about the park’s economic and cultural impact. 
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced that the state is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Nancy Grubert-Harvey, age 52.  On January 25, 2013, Nancy Grubert-Harvey was found deceased at the Atlanta Car Company located at 1896 Old US Highway 52 in Lexington.  
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced that the state is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the location and arrest of the suspect Bryan Tyronne Montreal Goodwin, age 31, for the murder of Jaquin Kymane Bethea, Jr., age 33.On Aug. 6, 2024, the body of Jaquin Kymane Bethea was found in an abandoned residence on Ridge Road in the Supply area of Brunswick County. Bethea had been shot twice and investigators located multiple shell casings at the scene. Investigators have identified Bryan Tyronne Montreal Goodwin as a suspect.
Today, Governor Josh Stein, Attorney General Jeff Jackson, North Carolina Department of Public Safety Secretary Eddie Buffaloe, and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Dev Sangvai joined advocates and law enforcement officers at the SAFEChild Advocacy Center to raise awareness of the ongoing tragedy of child abuse and neglect. They also highlighted April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and April 28 as Children’s Advocacy Center Day.  
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced that Gillespie Precast will establish a new manufacturing plant in Randolph County that will create 39 jobs. The company, a leading producer of custom precast concrete, will invest $10 million in Asheboro.“North Carolina offers manufacturing companies like Gillespie Precast an outstanding place to do business,” said Governor Stein. “We’re the number one manufacturing state in the Southeast thanks to our skilled, well-trained workforce.”
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced the following judicial appointment:Lisa Johnson-Tonkins to the Superior Court for Judicial District 24A, serving part of Guilford County. Johnson-Tonkins is filling the vacancy created after the Honorable Lora Cubbage retired.
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced that Opsun Corporation, a manufacturer of structures for solar panels, will create 20 new jobs in Guilford County. The company will invest $9.3 million to build its first United States production facility in High Point.
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced more than $41 million in Completing Access to Broadband (CAB) program projects to connect 11,816 households and businesses in 17 counties to high-speed internet.“Connecting North Carolinians online helps strengthen our state,” said Governor Josh Stein. “Broadband plays a crucial role in our development, and I look forward to seeing how these funds expand economic opportunities for people in every corner of North Carolina.”
Today, North Carolina Department of Adult Correction Secretary Leslie Cooley Dismukes announced First Lady Anna Stein’s appointment to the North Carolina Joint Reentry Council. The Joint Reentry Council coordinates efforts to improve the rehabilitation and reentry of people returning to their communities after serving a sentence in prison or jail.“I’m very excited to appoint the First Lady to the Joint Reentry Council and look forward to the knowledge, enthusiasm and visibility she will bring to the work of the council,” said Secretary Dismukes.
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced that Wow Bao, a fast-growing Asian street food company, will create 88 jobs in Rutherford County. The company will invest $6.45 million to establish its first company-operated manufacturing facility in Forest City."North Carolina welcomes Wow Bao to our state where businesses find a strong infrastructure and ready workforce,” said Governor Stein.  “Wow Bao’s decision to expand here strengthens our state's vibrant food industry and brings new opportunities and jobs to Rutherford County."
