 Governor Roy Cooper has declared Dec. 1 - 7 as Winter Weather Preparedness Week and is encouraging North Carolinians to plan and prepare now, before potentially dangerous winter weather arrives.

With the season of giving at hand and Giving Tuesday 2019 right around the corner, it is a great time for state employees to consider volunteer work with groups that are helping hurricane-impacted areas recover and rebuild.

Hyde County Commissioners voted to accept a $600,000 state-funded grant this week to allow for more aid for Hurricane Dorian survivors.

Governor Roy Cooper announced today that the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Office of Rural Health has awarded 23 grants for disaster preparedness to health care providers affected by Hurricane Florence.

Today, Governor Cooper signed two bills into law.

Today the U.S. Small Business Administration granted Governor Cooper’s request for a disaster declaration for counties that suffered damages from Hurricane Dorian, making additional assistance available to residents there.

Governor Roy Cooper sent a letter today to the U.S. Small Business Administration requesting that the SBA grant a disaster declaration for North Carolina counties that were affected by Hurricane Dorian.
