Today Governor Josh Stein announced that 66 projects in 26 counties across the state will receive more than $215 million in funding for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The State Water Infrastructure Authority approved the funding. The majority of the funds awarded – approximately $196 million – goes to communities that experienced significant infrastructure damage from Hurricane Helene. 
Today Governor Stein announced that the N.C. Global TransPark, a 2,500-acre multimodal industrial park in Kinston, and the U.S. Navy have signed a 10-year agreement that will bring more than 400 jobs to eastern North Carolina. The N.C. Global TransPark will support maintenance and aircraft overhaul for the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE), which provides fleet support to all branches of the U.S. Department of War. 
Governor Josh Stein today announced that North Carolina’s Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has approved seven grant requests for local governments totaling $1,657,500. The grants include commitments to create a total of 215 jobs, 26 of which were previously announced. As a result of these grants, the additional investment in these projects, from private and public sources, is expected to reach approximately $41 million and create 189 new jobs. 
Today Governor Josh Stein joined business leaders for a tour of Trane Technologies’ energy-efficient HVAC system training facility and a discussion on North Carolina’s leadership in the clean energy economy and the importance of clean energy availability for businesses.  
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced that the State of North Carolina is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the recent fatal attack on Cynthia Hansen, age 71, in Whiteville.“We must use every tool at our disposal to pursue justice for victims,” said Governor Josh Stein. “I urge North Carolinians who have information about cases like this one to contact local law enforcement and help us provide closure to victims’ families."
Duke Energy has announced its intent to seek an additional $800 million in fuel costs from the Utilities Commission. Governor Stein issued the following statement:

Today Governor Josh Stein joined Senator Natalie Murdock, the Legislative Black Caucus, and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to recognize Black Maternal Health Week and raise awareness of ongoing disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes.
Today Governor Stein attended the 41st annual North Carolina Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony at Lawndale Baptist Church in Greensboro, hosted by Attorney General Jeff Jackson in honor of law enforcement professionals who have fallen in the line of duty.  
Today Governor Josh Stein joined educators, students, and leaders from Forsyth Technical Community College and host Guilford Technical Community College to learn more about initiatives in the Triad to train North Carolina’s child care workforce.
