Tonight, Governor Josh Stein delivered his first State of the State Address, highlighting the ongoing work to recover in western North Carolina and urging the General Assembly to invest in economic opportunity, workforce development, families and children, public schools, and public safety. Specifically, he urged the General Assembly to resolve their differences and quickly pass a Helene recovery funding bill.

Tomorrow, Governor Josh Stein will deliver his first State of the State Address, highlighting his vision for the future of North Carolina. During his address, he will highlight ongoing western North Carolina recovery efforts and urge the General Assembly to invest in economic opportunity, workforce development, families and children, public schools, and public safety.Today, Governor Stein also announced his honored guests for the State of the State.
Today, FEMA granted Governor Stein’s request for an extension for state, tribal, and local governments, as well as some non-profit organizations, to apply for its Public Assistance program. The new deadline is April 7, 2025. 
Today, Governor Josh Stein announced that Ralliant Corporation, a global company providing precision technologies for a range of industry sectors will establish its global headquarters in Wake County, creating 180 jobs.  The company will invest $2.1 million in the North Hills area of Raleigh.
Today, Governor Josh Stein visited Kate’s Korner, a Durham child care center, to announce a new Task Force for Child Care and Early Education and highlight the need to invest in North Carolina families. Co-Chaired by Lieutenant Governor Rachel Hunt and Senator Jim Burgin, the group is tasked with identifying solutions to expand access to affordable, high quality child care across North Carolina and support the child care workforce.  
Governor Josh Stein has proclaimed March 2025 as Students@Work℠ Month in North Carolina. Throughout the month, businesses across the state will welcome more than 25,000 students to learn first-hand about jobs and industries in local communities across North Carolina. “Our students are our future: the future of our workforce and the future of our state,” said Governor Josh Stein. “I am pleased to honor Students@Work℠ for their 15 years of efforts to connect schools to employers and help students discover their talents and passions.”

Today, Governor Josh Stein and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Dev Sangvai hosted a roundtable with health care professionals and Medicaid beneficiaries to highlight the lifesaving impacts of Medicaid and discuss the importance of protecting Medicaid funding from federal cuts.
