Governor Roy Cooper has appointed Erica Standfield Brandon as District Court Judge to Judicial District 17A, serving Rockingham and Caswell counties. She will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Michael Gentry.

Governor Roy Cooper signed a letter requesting that the U.S. Small Business Administration issue a disaster declaration for Mecklenburg County and Catawba County, and the contiguous counties of Alexander, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, and Union.  Dozens of homes were flooded in these areas after recent heavy rains.
