(RALEIGH) Today, Governor Stein joined the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, elected officials, law enforcement, and advocates at the North Carolina Rehabilitation and Reentry Conference to reaffirm North Carolina’s commitment to enhancing reentry processes to promote public safety, reduce recidivism, and improve outcomes. He also expressed his appreciation that First Lady Anna Stein, who has prioritized reentry as one of her key issues, will serve on the Joint Reentry Council.
Governor Josh Stein announced today that communities statewide will receive more than $265 million in funding for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects. These loans and grants will help to pay for 99 projects in 45 different counties. The awards include funding to address emerging contaminants (PFAS) and identify and replace lead pipes.

“It’s a positive signal that President Trump made his first visit outside the capital as President to our mountains. I thanked the President for coming and asked for his support of $20 billion in additional disaster relief and for 100% reimbursement of eligible FEMA expenses for another six months.
As much of the coastal, eastern, and central regions of North Carolina experienced snow and record cold temperatures, Governor Stein and emergency management officials are continuing to urge the public to exercise caution.
