North Carolinians deserve a government that delivers effective, modern services every day. Governor Stein has worked across party lines to cut red tape, improve service where North Carolinians need it most, and expand digital services.

In 2025, the Stein administration:

• Enabled 80,000 North Carolinians to skip a trip to the DMV in just two months through additional eligibility for online Driver License Renewals
• Shortened average DMV wait times from more than three hours to less than one and a half by implementing process improvements, embedding new tools and technology, and hiring additional Driver License Examiners
• Signed legislation that makes it easier and faster to recruit new public servants into state government jobs
• Established the AI Leadership Council to guide the responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence in state government, and created the AI Accelerator to speed innovation and deployment of AI to improve government delivery
• Enhanced cybersecurity and resilience statewide through continuous investments to safeguard North Carolinians’ data, ensure the dependability of digital services, and protect essential systems
