Today Governor Josh Stein joined business leaders and elected officials at the grand opening for PSA Airlines’ new headquarters in Charlotte. The new headquarters of the American Airlines subsidiary that operates American Eagle is expected to bring 400 jobs to Mecklenburg County and support more than $228 million in economic output in North Carolina each year.

Today Governor Stein joined the 200 Club of Wake County to honor North Carolina’s first responders. For 25 years, the 200 Club of Wake County has supported the families of fallen Wake County first responders through immediate financial assistance and scholarships for their children and spouses.“First responders run toward danger when others might flee, and they face real challenges in their work,” said Governor Josh Stein. “They deserve support for their sacrifices and pay that reflects their value.”

The global financial services company’s expansion represents a $16.1 million investment in Mecklenburg County and will support 510 new jobs in Charlotte, expanding Citi’s local workforce in areas like retail cards, finance, and marketing.

Governor Josh Stein and state officials are asking all North Carolinians to prepare for severe weather because a rare Level 4 Moderate Risk has been issued by the National Weather Service. The primary threats with this storm system are damaging wind gusts of 74 mph or higher, large hail, and tornadoes.
